Reminiscing Retrograde in Libra

 ​Mercury Retrograde steps in retrograde at 25° on September 25th. He is still in the sign of Libra and travel back to 10° before he sta tions direct. Depending on where Libra is in your chart and what aspects you have to Mercury will give you a hint of what the terrain ahead may be like. Knowing full well how interactive energy is and how many facets of expression is possible, the astro weather ahead can work out in so many ways, but there is always a collective theme.

Mercury retrograde will be no different in that respect. Did you happen to notice how electronics and the internet began to slow down a few weeks ago? Just observe anything that has to do with communications in your life and where you might see some skidazzle. And for those of you in the awakening process, pay attention to your emotions and how electronics are acting around you, especially if you have a Moon air sign, or are ruled by Mercury in direct motion, or have a lot of planets in either Gemini or Virgo, and let us never forget any of the aspects with Mercurial energy.

Like his counterparts, Jupiter, and Neptune, mutable rulers of Sagittarius and Pisces, and the fixed change, Mercury’s higher octave, Uranus, you have the complete merging of elements and the explicit dualities of fire and water. Mercury is also known as the trickster, amongst other traditions. The symbolism of coyotes, foxes, parrots, serpents (first skink with a blue tail that I have ever seen living here in southwest Florida), ants, bees, and spiders ruled by good ol’ Mercury.

Part of that is his healing ability on the more positive aside. He molds so easily because of his ability to feel what others are about. With his hands, his words, his androgyny, his ease to be on one side as equally as another. In Libra, Venus holds her energy, in balance, in harmony, in justice for the imbalance of harmony, no matter how severe that is. Mercury in Libra can be charming and equally deceitful, lying with a smile, focused on beautifying any form of communication and relationships it touches. After all, most of us of respond to some form of charm that opens the door. This is Mercury’s gift in Libra with others, but Mercury will be forced to looked inward, in our relationships with ourselves and how we respond and project to our relationships.

Mercury’s Sabian Symbol is “The sight of autumn leaf brings to a pilgrim the sudden revelation of the mystery of life and death.” In the duality of all the energy out there, this degree reminds us that there is a silver lining in each event. Or when one door closes, another door opens. It gets even more interesting with Mercury’s rising in Cancer, at 13°, a number of the Goddess, of Venus with a Sabian Symbol, “A hand with a prominent thumb is held out for study.” This statement reminds how powerful our attention, our will, our focus is in molding you exactly as you mold yourself to be.
, In this area of world, Southwest Florida, Mercury has Cancer as his rising, Mercury projects with compassion, with a Mama Bear attitude, realizing the power in relationships and making them work. adding a whole dose of femininity, the expression of security, and nurturing to the picture.  Boundaries for ourselves so that we can nurture the others whom we are contracted to nurture on this part of our journey. The challenge with our words will be between the mammoth amount of new information coming at us. Jupiter adds a bit of creativity to his quintiles to Neptune conjunct Pallas Athene, and Pluto, all four planets, reiterating the necessity to really dig deep inside and draw up your power.

This is a good time to get your words out on the internet and in new creative ways. We can be deceitfully good as well as deceitfully bad. We always have a choice. Three weeks longer in Libra before he dives into the depths of Scorpio, dredging up with Venus has felt for the last several weeks. He will not be so nice, or quite as charming once he dredges in the uncomfortable terrain of purging your deepest expression, pushing you to release and transform, hitting the deepest part of your soul.
